Why I Love This Recipe

When I say easily make, I mean easy! In just a few steps, you will have a comforting home made meal that can feed a crowd. Moreover, the benefits of cabbage are amazing, and this dish is made with egg free noodles, so it’s cholesterol free.

I’ve never used any other type of noodle, but you could make this more fun by using a different noodle. A fun spiral noodle would work well. In addition I love that this recipe is surprisingly flavorful, but you can add additional veggies for more flavor.

Adding garlic, leeks or onions would all taste great in this dish. I would add in those things for a few minutes before adding the cabbage to the pot. When it comes to salt & pepper, I listed these as “to taste”. Growing up, my family taught me to heavily salt & pepper this dish. That’s the way I still eat it today, which doesn’t suit all tastes.

Easily Make Cabbage & Noodles

Cabbage & noodles is probably my favorite meal to eat. When I make this dish, I have to stop myself from eating more than 2 cups for a meal. While it’s pretty low in calories, I’d prefer to not have so many carbs for one meal.

When I make cabbage & noodles, I start by boiling my water. Next, I chop my cabbage, and any other veggies I may be adding. As the noodles cook, I start my cabbage. I use all parts of the cabbage, and just chop it into bite sized pieces. The pieces will shrink while they cook. You’ll know the cabbage is done when it’s soft.

As soon as the noodles are finished, drain and add them to the cabbage. Gently mix the cabbage and noodles together, and you are ready to eat.
