Why I Love This Coffee Alternative
Like most things in my life now a days, they don’t taste great and it’s disappointing. Instead of being down about how I no longer enjoy my Super Brew, I decided to make my own coffee alternative. Not everyone’s taste is the same, and others may want an alternative, so I’ve created my own to share with everyone.
Angie’s Coffee Alternative is full of healthful ingredients including antioxidants & adaptogens. Continue reading to learn how to make this awesome coffee alternative at home.
What Goes Into Angie’s Coffee Alternative?
I’ll break down the key ingredients that make this mix so healthful.
- Chaga – is a known superfood due to its immune-boosting properties. Contains antioxidants that are 100 times more powerful than chlorophyll.
- Mushroom blend – contains 10 different mushrooms & adaptogens. This blend supports stress, focus, and energy.
- Lucuma – the same ingredient I use in Angie’s Better Than Cocoa Powder can be found in my coffee alternative. Lucuma contains insoluble fiber as well as antioxidants.
- Dandelion – contains antioxidants, and I feel that it gives a little bitterness to this coffee alternative, which makes it seem more like coffee to me.
How Can I Use Angie’s Coffee Alternative?
As mentioned in my Super Brew post, there are many ways to use this coffee alternative. Using a coffee alternative, you can have your favorite Americano, Cappuccino, etc. simply replacing the coffee with the coffee alternative.
When I make my coffee alternative, I mix in coffee creamer as I have yet to find a way to make a delicious coffee creamer at home. Typically I’ll use water as my base, adding in cream when I add in the powder. I highly recommend using a handheld frother to mix the powder & cream (or milk). This will ensure proper mixing. As an alternative, you can use all milk or a 50/50 mix of water & milk as your base – it’s up to your personal taste.
