The Best Way To Make Eggnog

- 6 Large Eggs
- 1 Cup Sugar
- ½ Teaspoon Ground Nutmeg
- 1 Cup Half & Half
- 1 Cup Whole Milk
- 1 Cup Heavy Cream
- ½ Cup Rum
- ½ Cup Cognac
- ½ Cup Bourbon
Instructions
- Seperate eggs and save the whites for something else – like angel food cake.6 Large Eggs
- Using a hand mixer and a large bowl, beat yolks with sugar and nutmeg until it's light and falls off the blades in a solid ribbon.1 Cup Sugar
- Place your blender cup on a kitchen scale, and pour your dairy, salt, nutmeg, and alcohol. Add in your egg mixture. Be sure to not overfill your blender. Blend until combined. For alcohol-free eggnog, omit the alcohol.½ Teaspoon Ground Nutmeg, 1 Cup Half & Half, 1 Cup Whole Milk, 1 Cup Heavy Cream, ½ Cup Rum, ½ Cup Cognac, ½ Cup Bourbon
- Pour your mixture into jars or containers and store in the fridge. You can drink right away or age for a year.

Why I Love This Easy To Make Eggnog
To begin, my easy to make eggnog has alcohol in it – for some, this is the only way to drink it! When I was younger, I would buy eggnog at the store, and it wasn’t enjoyable. If that’s the only eggnog you’ve ever tried, I would encourage you to give this eggnog a try.
Secondly, this eggnog is creamy, full of flavor, and super easy to make! Plus, it’s inspired by Alton Brown’s eggnog, you know it’s great!
Tips To Make This Eggnog
This was my first time making eggnog, and I have a few tips to share in case you’d like to make this eggnog your own!
Tip # 1 – leave out the alcohol for an alcohol-free version!
Tip # 2 – for a creamier consistency, use 1.5 cups whole milk & 1.5 cups heavy whipping cream and leave out the half & half.
Tip # 3 – add cinnamon into or on top of the drink for more warmth
Tip # 4 – if you prefer cooked eggs, combine dairy & nutmeg in a pot and boil, stirring occasionally. Remove from heat, and allow to cool for a few minutes. Pour a little of the hot mixture into a bowl and mix a little of the egg & sugar mixture. Continued to add a little hot and a little egg mixture until all is combined. Doing it slowly will temper the eggs and you won’t end up with scrambled eggs. Once all dairy and egg are combined, heat to 160 degrees F, allow cooling slightly then add in alcohol and mix well. Then proceed with placing in jars in the fridge.
