Materials
- 1 Cup White Rice
- 1 Teaspoon White Vinegar
- 5-10 Drops Green Food Coloring
Instructions
- Place all ingredients in zip lock bag.1 Cup White Rice, 1 Teaspoon White Vinegar, 5-10 Drops Green Food Coloring
- Seal bag, leaving a little air inside.
- Shake bag until all ingredients are combined.

- You can use any color of food coloring you’d like, I decided on green to make it more grass-like and on the garden party theme.
Why I Love This Garden Party Drink Station
This party drink station was so fun to create! A few ingredients combined with coasters and some cute miniature figurines created a beautiful drink station. Pair this with these cute flower pot cups and you will have a perfect garden party drink station.

Inspiration For A Garden Party Drink Station
First, I saw someone post online that they made a sensory box for their child, and they had died rice. A lightbulb went off and I said, I must know how to make this for my party!
Next, I knew I wanted to make it feel like a garden. My garden has concrete stones in it, so I looked for concrete coasters. While I couldn’t find that, I did find black slate coasters that would work.
Third, keeping on the theme, I have plenty of garden tags and decided to use garden tags for labeling the drinks.
Finally, to complete the drink station, I found many small figurines that would fit perfectly in the “grass”. Animals, veggies, garden tools, and even flowers. In addition, I did have some random rocks and sea glass in my craft box that I knew would be perfect.
Making The Drink Station Your Own
The green rice “grass” really makes this drink station feel like a garden. By adding coasters you will get stability and height so you can have deeper grass. You could technically use any color rice, or even multiple colors if you have the time.
If buying figurines and garden tools seems too much, you definitely don’t need them. I would then recommend adding a fence or if you happen to have any rocks around add those in, too. For me, I’ve never dug a hole that didn’t have rocks or “other things” in them, so honestly, you could toss in nails or screws and that would also be on point.
Labeling your drinks is essential. Guests need to know what they are sipping on. Next time, I would have a list of drinks and what’s in them so everyone would know and be able to refresh their memories when they need another drink. If you don’t have garden labels, you could try to make them yourself, or omit them entirely and use sticky notes to label instead. There is nothing wrong with working with what you have available to you and your budget.
Try using unique bottles for your signature drinks – this adds so much fun!
I will leave you with a final tip. I highly recommend placing the rice into your container to “air out” a few hours before your party. This will allow the vinegar smell to dissipate.
