Have You Ever Wondered About A Mushroom Grow Kit?
A few months ago I didn’t even know a mushroom grow kit existed. I forget how I found it, I think it was posted on a gardening group. Of course, I had to give it a try, I’ve been wanting to grow mushrooms for a while now. Mushrooms are challenging to grow outside (at least to me), and rather than try growing outside, I opted for a kit!
Even though I’d love to try to grow mushrooms outside, I don’t have the time to invest in learning the ins and outs of mushrooms. Regardless of how you feel about growing mushrooms, you may be interested in a mushroom grow kit.

How To Use A Mushroom Grow Kit
Using a mushroom grow kit is a fun and easy way to have fresh mushrooms at home! It only took about 11 days to get large enough mushrooms to enjoy. First, you will want to read the directions, and the pamphlet that came with the kit. This may seem obvious, but there is so much good information on the pamphlet!
Second, you will want to find a place that is large enough to hold the box. I chose a very small windowsill, and my mushroom box ended up on the ground. I wound up moving the box to a table that gets a little sun.
Finally, remember to water your mushrooms every day, the kit comes with a small spray bottle which makes it simple.
Tips For The Best Mushrooms
Most notably, the temperature makes a large difference in how your mushrooms grow. In fact, higher temperatures will produce faster growing mushrooms, but they will be lighter in color. Whereas lower temperatures grow slower and darker in color.
At the same time light makes a difference – more light produces more vibrant mushrooms and less lights makes the mushrooms more gray.
If you are looking for small caps, you’ll want no air flow and if you larger caps, make sure you have regular air flow. For me, I had moderate temperature, a little light, and regular airflow. You can see in the images below how my mushrooms grew.
