2 Ingredient Cashew Milk
Equipment
Ingredients
- 1 Cup Cashews, Unsalted
- 2 Cups Water
- 6 Cups Water
Instructions
Prep Cashews
- Soak 1 cup cashews in 2 cups water for 24 hours1 Cup Cashews, Unsalted, 2 Cups Water
Make Milk
- Drain the water, and place the cashews in your blender. Add up to 6 cups of water. The more water you add, the thinner your milk will be. I recommend starting with 2 cups of water, following the next steps, and then adding more water if needed.6 Cups Water
- Use the "nut milk" setting on your blender, should take about 5 minutes. If you don't have that setting, blend on the highest setting for 4-5 minutes.
- Strain milk, optional. I found my cashew milk didn't have much pulp, and this step was not necessary.
- If you didn't add all 6 cups of water, taste your milk, and add more water. Blend for about 30 seconds, and repeat until desired taste.

Why I Love This Recipe
When I tried my 2 ingredient cashew milk for the first time, I knew I would never go back to store bought. I’ve wanted to try making my own milk for years, and always thought it was too hard. With only 2 ingredients and about 3 minutes of effort, this is one of my easiest recipes.
I instantly knew this would be a new favorite for me. My main goal was to make a milk that would froth well. Sadly, I didn’t find that this milk frothed as great as I expected. Using only 2 cups of water to 1 cup of nuts did produce more froth than when I made it with 6 cups of water. However, I found 6 cups to be to watery for me. The search continues for a plant based milk that froths!
How Does This 2 Ingredient Cashew Milk Compare To Store Bought?
At first glance, it appears that these cashew milks are very similar. But, if you look at the individual rows, you will see differences. Depending on your diet and what you are looking for in your milk, will determine which one is best for you.
For me, I’m concerned about the ingredients in the milk and keeping them to a minimum. Even though I love the convenience and shelf life of store bought milk, creating a few batches of cashew milk a week isn’t a big deal for me.
